"We're Not the Cheapest Roofer… Here's Why That's a Good Thing"
I'm going to be straight with you. In 15 years of roofing in Fresno, I've re-done more "budget" roofs than I can count. The cheapest bid usually means builder-grade materials that fail in under 10 years, corners cut on underlayment and ventilation, no real warranty, and a company that disappears when problems show up.
Let me give you an example. The shingles we use — Owens Corning Duration® — have the patented SureNail® strip built into the nailing zone. It is 9X less likely for a nail to blow through the shingle and 2X less likely to blow off the roof. In Fresno summers, when it's 110° and the heat is literally popping cheap shingles off the deck, ours stay locked down. Budget shingles don't have anything like that.
Here's something a lot of people don't know. Most roofers around here use one brand of shingle, a different brand of underlayment, and whatever ridge cap is cheapest that week. When something fails, every manufacturer points the finger at the other one. "Not our product." Your warranty is worthless. We use a complete Owens Corning system — one manufacturer, top to bottom. That's the only way you get a real 50-year Platinum warranty.
And here's the part I really want you to hear. That warranty isn't through me — it's through Owens Corning directly. Yeah, we cost more. Our packages run $10,000–$17,500 for a typical 25-square roof — more than the cheapest quote you'll find. But a budget roof that fails in 12 years costs you double over 25 years.
